Hello I’m Erica! I’m a product designer at Uber, designing Marketplace and Growth experiences for earners on the platform. This is my second year judging UCLA’s Designathon and I’m super excited since it was so much fun last time. When I’m not designing, I like to workout and get crafty 🙂
Juliana is a Product Designer at Tripmix, leading the startup's North Star vision toward user-centric solutions that challenge the status quo. A design strategist at heart, she advocates for designers to adopt an abundance mindset, conduct parallel design investigations, and utilize divergent & convergent thinking to create collaborative spaces for play, learning, and innovation. She has a winning streak of placing first and mentoring teams to win design competitions (most recently HackDavis 2024), sharing her secret sauce if you can find her! As a UC Davis design graduate and current Top UX Voice on LinkedIn, Juliana champions design-led strategies and community initiatives, actively mentoring early-career designers and students.
Hi I'm Kelly! I graduated from UCLA in 2022 as a Cognitive Science major and I'm from Bay Area California. I've competed in multiple designathons during undergrad which have helped me develop the skills I use today as a UX Designer at EY's Corporate Design Agency. I really enjoy design mentorship and community so please reach out! Excited to learn from everyone!
Luke Miller is the UX Design Director for the National Geographic Society where he leads a team of four UX designer-researchers. He's worked and taught in the UX field for 14 years and considers his greatest accomplishments to be launching careers, not just products. His previous design roles were at The Wall Street Journal and Yahoo, and his teaching roles include American University, The Corcoran at GW, Parsons at The New School, and currently UCLA's extension UX certificate.
Hi! I'm Mania (Gesthimani), currently a Sr Product Manager delivering 3D software solutions to Nike's designers. My background in design and storytelling fuels my ability to turn complex challenges into magical user experiences. As a UCLA alumna and 2nd time Designathon judge, I'm excited to see this year's fun ideas, and committed to lending my cross-industry insights to each unique project.
I am currently employed as a Product Experience Designer at Mastercard. With over 3 years of experience in the field of UX design, I have developed a deep understanding of user-centric design principles and a keen eye for innovative solutions. My skills in user research, interface design, prototyping, usability testing, and design systems have been honed through various projects and initiatives.
With a rich background spanning five years in the tech industry as a User Experience Designer, I’ve cultivated a deep understanding of solving complex enterprise challenges and driving growth through design. My experience extends beyond tech, encompassing design consulting and the entertainment sector, which equips me with a diverse toolkit for creative problem-solving. As a judge and mentor, I’m committed to offering valuable insights, guidance, and support to help you excel in your projects in this 2024 Designathon!
